Chatuchak Market and Lumpini Park
We walked from your hotel to the Si Lom underground station and took the train to Kamphaeng Phet station, then walking right out into Chatuchak Market. This is a massive market. We used the clocktower as a meeting spot, and have some coconut ice cream along the way.
Thai Dinner with our City Host, Scott
I met Scott in 1998 in the High Altitude Andes Mountains of Bolivia on a tour. My friend, TJ and I were on a tour from Chile to Bolivia via the Andes high desert, when our tour guide offered to let us stay an extra night at the first stop in the desert. By chance, Scott, and his buddy Darren, arrived the next day on the same tour, TJ and I joined their Toyota Land Cruiser for the next 4-5 days to the destination of Uyuni, Bolivia- home of the Salar de Uyuni. We travelled as a group several times over the next 2 months, and have been great friends ever since.
Scott moved to Bangkok, Thailand in 1999 to start a tour company, and still lives here with his wife and working in the travel industry. He lined up a fantastic menu of daily adventure in and around Bangkok for us throughout this week. This is the first time I have seen Scott face to face in over 16 years. He visited me in California in 2006.
On the night of our first full day, Scott took us to dinner at one of his favorite restaurants,
